In the fall of 1972, after
finishing four years with the U.S. Marine Corps in Virginia, my new bride Marsha and I moved to Fargo so that I could attend NDSU. However, one of the most memorable parts of the fall was my introduction to the Fargo-Moorhead Camera Club and the world of photography began to open up for me. Wow!, was I impressed with the salon presentations of 16x20 black and whites, color prints and the projected color slides. FMCC had some really big hitters that year, with competition from Stan Thompson, Vernyl Pederson, Don Zimmerman and Harold Klug, to name just a few. Dr. Coffey was in the thick of it along with our own A.C. Houglum Digital wasn't even imagined at that time. The images were all hand printed.
Now, the chemical days are gone, and the electronic imaging rules. However, the name of the game remains "images." Images with impact. Color or black and white, printed or projected, I love'em all. FMCC is 69 years in the running and continues to offer so much. Thank you to all that have contributed over the years. If everyone continues to contribute, compete, and recruit FMCC will thrive another 69 years. Bruce Danuser President
