Each year, the Fargo-Moorhead Camera Club holds an awards banquet to honor those who have excelled in competition during the year. In addition to the awards given for participation and achievement in the monthly salons and in N4C competition, several special awards are also conferred: The Colin Campbell Trophy is given each year to the maker of the most outstanding Color Slide of the year, as determined by the judge of the Annual Salon from all winning entries during the year. This trophy was donated by a former member of the club. The Charles Heilman Trophy was donated by Dr. Charles Heilman to honor the most outstanding Print of the year as determined by the Annual Salon judge. Dr. Heilman was a long-time club member well known for his meticulous and beautiful bland-and-white prints. The Mark Kempenich Trophy was presented to the club by Mrs. Kempenich and is given each year in memory of Mark, who was best known for his extreme dedication and service to the club. Only those who knew Mark can appreciate the intensity of his devotion, his vigor, and his enthusiasm. The trophy is awarded by previous recipients to the person deemed to have given the greatest measure of service to the club during the preceding year. The EPKO Trophy was donated by EPKO Film Service, a former photographic store in Fargo, and is awarded by the executive board of the club to a meritorious new member. The Arthur J. Olson Trophy recognizes the late Arthur Olson, beloved and long term club member who passed away in the fall of 1994. Since Art was so active in N4C, having served as its President and in many other capacities, the award is made annually to the club member who is most active in all N4C monthly contests, both as a participant and as a competition winner.
